About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Analyst will complete various financial reports and metrics, assess departmental operational performance and assist business leads in preparing their operating budgets.  As part of the corporate accounting team, works to provide timely and meaningful financial insights to enable the business to analyze performance and make data-driven decisions.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Complete assigned components of the quarterly consolidated financial reporting, semi-annual shareholder reporting and year-end audit processes, including working papers, ad hoc analyses and the creation of custom reports;
  • Manage annual budget, forecast / reforecast processes, including coordination with departments across the organization and the review and validation of inputs;
  • Maintain and enhance templates to assist budget, forecast, reforecast submission, validation, and scenario analyses;
  • Work closely with business units to submit financial information and other data ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate guidelines;
  • Provide ongoing business support by responding to financial information, reconciliation and analysis requests;
  • Create and/or assist in the preparation of a dashboard and Key Performance Indicators that supplement reporting packages to the lines of business;
  • Assist with Joint Venture and Limited Partnership property and fund level capital management (cash call, financial reporting, and cash flow reports);
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, ensuing process changes are appropriately implemented, documented, and communicated;
  • Assist with other Corporate Accounting ad-hoc requests.

What you Bring

  • Five (5) years of progressive financial analysis and reporting experience in a fast-paced business environment;
  • Post secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance;
  • CPA designation;
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple changing priorities and tasks in an efficient and effective manner;
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with proven ability to be resourceful in seeking and consolidating information from a variety of sources;
  • Demonstrated ability to listen intently and work collaboratively, building strong relationships across the organization and with external partners;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with Yardi and BI tools will be considered an asset.
