About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Data Engineering, the Senior Data Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing data-driven initiatives.  Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with Data Analysts to translate business needs into efficient data models, ensuring the delivery of reliable data sets sourced from a diverse range of resources.


What You'll Do

  • Leverage modern software development processes (Agile) and tooling to ensure a reliable and scalable data platform;
  • Create the future-forward data architecture and data platform in partnership with the SI consultants, the Data Analytics and the Applications team;
  • Create data integrations to deliver large datasets to the customers;
  • Build, maintain, and manage data pipelines that power critical features;
  • Leverage cloud resources to support the acquisition and ingestion of internal and external data sources;
  • Maximize the availability, recoverability, and operational efficiency of data pipelines and supporting systems;
  • Build up and improve the observability of the platform and provide visibility into system health;
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor Data Engineers regarding code quality, distributed knowledge, and best practices;
  • Participate in technical design reviews, and pair programming sessions;
  • Ensure code is documented where applicable or required.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics, or a related field;
  • Five (5) years of experience in data engineering and architecture;
  • Demonstrated expertise in Amazon data services (Amazon Glue, Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, Lake Formation…)
  • Proven track record of developing, maintaining, and optimizing Python, Spark, and Scala scripts for processing and analyzing large datasets in a cloud environment.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture.
  • Experience building data pipelines: ELT/ETL and working with orchestration solutions such as Apache Airflow.
  • Enterprise-level exposure on data ops.
  • Experience with Amazon SageMaker and Amazon QuickSight will be considered an asset.



The expected base salary range for this role is $116,600 to $160,300. Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
