About The Role

Bosa Properties is looking for an ­­­­DevOps Lead to join our infrastructure team. Reporting to the ­­Director, IT Operations, this individual will have a unique opportunity to ­­­­improve software development and release lifecycle efficiencies while ensuring a secure operating environment. The DevOps Lead is responsible for providing guidance, setting standards, and directly contributing as a skilled DevOps Engineer. Additionally, this role sets work priorities for external DevOps resources, and ensures consistent and secure deployment of our applications.

Our backend services are authored in .NET Core, Node.js and Java and our frontend applications are typically developed using Next.js/ReactJS and TypeScript with integrations into various other tools and systems like Salesforce, Stripe and DocuSign. We use AWS’s cloud platform for elastic container orchestration, application hosting & network/CDN services, NoSQL databases, elastic storage and streaming analytics. CodeCommit, CodeBuild and Octopus Deploy are the primary tools used for CI/CD. 

 

What You'll Do

  • Define and prioritize projects and tasks;
  • Act as the first point of contact for DevOps Jira issues;
  • Organize, delegate, and monitor the work of external resources;
  • Designe cloud infrastructure using resources such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework and published best practices;
  • Work closely with our software development team to implement technologies, tools, and processes;
  • Directly contribute to:
    • Coding and maintaining AWS IaC environments (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform);
    • Configuring cloud networks (e.g. VPC, subnets, routing tables, security groups, NACLs);
    • Configuring and scripting cloud services (e.g. AWS OpWorks);
    • SQL and database performance tuning (e.g. DPA);
    • Web server administration (e.g. IIS, apache);
    • Configuring & managing containerization solutions (e.g. Docker, ECS, EC2, Kubernetes);
    • Defining and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and standardized development environments;
    • Designing and implementing internal and customer facing APIs using Microservice architecture;
    • Administering and managing the Content Delivery Network (CDN) (e.g. Cloudflare, CloudFront);
    • Managing .NET Core APIs, ReactJS applications and SQL/NoSQL databases;
    • Disaster Recovery Planning.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Development, or Computer Engineering;
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Certification;
  • Six (6) + years of experience in a DevOps leadership role where you have led projects to;
    • Develop workflows and guidelines to ensure Operations and Development teams are able to collaborate effectively using tools such as JIRA or Gitlab, methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, and policies such as SDLC;
    • Implement deployment release cycles utilizing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines for small-scale multi-tier web, data engineering, and business intelligence applications;
    • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code in AWS centric environments for services such as S3, EFS, Lambda, ECS, Glue, CloudWatch, EC2, VPC, WAF, CloudFront, ALB, IAM;
    • Provide observability (monitor, log, debug) for applications and services;
    • Standardize and secure software development environments.
  • An ability to;
    • Manage projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project and business outcomes are achieved;
    • Prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and tasks in parallel;
    • Think strategically and solution holistically, maintaining awareness of how decisions and changes will affect business requirements and application resiliency and security;
    • Develop best practices and mentor other members of the infrastructure team.

Salary

The expected base salary range for this role is $116,600 - $160,300. Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
